Capgemini announced today that it has been positioned as a Leader by Everest Group in its Envisioning the Connected Future: 5G Engineering Services PEAK Matrix® Assessment 2021 Report. Capgemini was recognized as a Leader for its vision and capability to deliver services successfully and its ability to create market impact.

This research is the first edition of Everest Group’s 5G Engineering Services PEAK Matrix® Assessment. It evaluates 18 engineering service providers and shares insights on enterprise sourcing considerations. Capgemini was recognized as a Leader by Everest Group in its PEAK Matrix® for its key strengths, including its:

  • acquisition of Altran, and the introduction of the new Capgemini Engineering brand, which has significantly added to its capabilities in the 5G Engineering Research & Development (ER&D) space
  • high quality partnerships and investments in areas such as 5G edge computing frameworks, 5G NextGen Core, open networking, New Radio (NR) software, and other frameworks,
  • investments in developing the right mix of IP across areas such as edge computing platforms, network element software frameworks, RAN intelligent controls, and cloud native architecture, designing the upcoming 5G engineering trends.

Capgemini has been positioned as a Leader in the Everest Group 5G Engineering Services PEAK Matrix® Assessment 2021 due to its rich experience and capabilities in the domain, its large and skilled talent pool, and a rich network of enabling partners. Capgemini is a true full-service 5G engineering service provider, as it has extensive offerings not only in 5G engineering but in assistive technologies, including edge and cloud. It is also one of the only few companies with a strong play in private 5G with offerings, such as business-to-business monetization platforms for SD-WAN and vertical integration services for specific industries,” said Akshat Vaid, Vice President at Everest Group. “Capgemini’s widespread presence of 5G delivery centers and 5G labs makes it a fit for global Telecom Service Providers and enterprises. Its portfolio of 5G intellectual property and frameworks, such as 5G Next Gen Core (NGC) software framework, edge computing platforms, and intelligent controllers for open RAN, ensures that it is received as an innovative and holistic service provider in the market.

“This recognition is a testament to Capgemini’s commitment to accompanying organizations in their data-driven and R&D transformation, and helping them to harness the full potential of 5G,” said Shamik Mishra, Chief Technology Officer for Connectivity at Capgemini Engineering. “Our collaboration with ecosystem partners, investments in research & development initiatives, software frameworks and 5G Labs across the globe, is helping us to serve high performance networks and applications, assist both network equipment and 5G network providers to accelerate and be a step ahead of the competition.”
